So, I discovered today that I can stand. I just don't like to. But Daddy was sneaky and caught it on video today.

The Mommy At the End of the Tunnel
Mommy got me the coolest toy ever a couple days ago. It was because I was really good when I was getting a shot. You should've seen me. I didn't cry or anything, I did however give the nurse a piece of my mind! Anyways, the toy is this awesome tunnel with my Mommy at one end and a hole at the other. It's SOOOOooo FUNNY! Enjoy.

So I Met This Girl
I was at this party with Mommy and Daddy last night, it was really nice because there were a bunch of people my age there, we really connected. In particular there was this one girl. I didn't even catch her name...

Shooting Stars Make Me Happy
Two days ago my neighbor Marlee showed me something downright hilarious, "Shooting Stars"! I just thought I would share the joy with everyone. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I do!

Baby Soccer Star
Dad and I were playing with Mom and a big blue ball today. I never knew it could be so much fun!! I was working on my eye-foot coordination.

Teething Bites
So I started cutting some teeth the other day. Let me tell you, it is not fun. My mouth hurts constantly and I can't even sleep well. My only consolation is that my mama and baba (that's right, I learned a new word) tell me that I can eat better food soon. The photo below gives you a pretty good idea of the way that I've been feeling lately.

Proof
I've had people asking me how I stay so cute, well, I tell them that it takes lots of work. Not many of them believe me so I have decided to post proof, that even I get bed head and sleepy eyes.

Another Day in the Pool
I'm A Big Fan of Soccer
I went to a soccer game today and although I had a rough time following what was going on on the field, and my dad wasn't much help explaining it either, I found this guy playing soccer by himself behind me. I am hooked and I can't wait until I can play soccer too. Sure does make my mom happy. By the way, for those of you wondering, that is my neighbor Sandra. Her daughter is on the soccer team my mommy coaches. After the exertion of watching the game, I decided to take a little nap.

A Few of My Different Looks
Mom said, "Be a 1980's rock star!" I'm a baby, I was born this year! But this was my best shot at it. Mom and Dad tell me it looks good.
Pool Time
I found out I could swim today. It's a lot of fun and I hope that my mom and dad let me do it a lot. They were worried about me breathing water, but I wasn't born yesterday, I know not to do that!

The Incredible Bouncing Baby Boy
Here I am showing off my superb bouncing skills. I've got to work hard for muscled legs like mine. This wonderful machine keeps me toned in just minutes a day.
I Discover Stickers
Today I discovered the properties of stickers. This one wound up on my forehead when I got grabby with moms new diaper pail. I later discovered that it will fall apart when wet and will no longer stick... interesting. I must find more of this strange paper for a more in depth analysis.

My Lion
Hey guys, I just wanted you all to meet my favorite friend, Mr. Lion. He has a colorful mane and if I pull on his legs, they stretch. His paws are fun to chew on too! Sometimes when I wake up at night I hold my lion until my daddy comes and gets me. I hope you all like him as much as I do.

Xan and Me cruising around the store
Xan and Me in the Bath
My Best Friend Xan

This is my best friend Xan, with an X so as to not be confused with Zan, who I don't even know. He lives down the street and we play together a lot. I like to watch him run around but it makes me tired trying to keep up with him. Last night my mom and Xan were playing in the kitchen and made a smelly foul tasting ooze. I can't wait to make it too some day! Xan is so cool.
I CAN crawl!

Kiwi Chair
I know it looks like a kiwi, but it's not. That's just an illusion. This is the amazing chair that helped Aleric learn to sit on his own. We sold the old one and a jogging stroller to get this new one with a tray. Now we have a portable highchair with toy attachments, it's very nice.
New Upholstry
As if this baby wasn't already the hottest ride in the coldesac, we've decided to sweeten the deal. This hot-rod now comes equipped with plush veggie tales interior to keep that pampered bottom comfy on the long trips to the grocery store. Once you sit on this pillow-top seat, you'll never go back to just huggies again.

I do it all aself mommy
This afternoon Holly was in the kitchen and she heard from the living room "Hey mom, since you're up, you think you could get me a bottle? I'm feeling kind of hungry." Holly thought this a bit odd but obliged and quickly prepared a bottle for the little man. When she started to feed it to him he smacked her hand out of the way with a strong "I do it all aself mommy" (This is a direct quote of a young Holly, I don't know where Aleric heard it) Holly decided to see how long he would do it and he fed himself an entire 6oz bottle. Then promptly passed out. All the talking and self sufficiency really tuckered him out.
I'm gonna be like you dad

Aleric was on the porch swing swinging with his mom and I was lounging in the lounge chair talking to them when Aleric let us know that he wanted to sit with me, but in his own chair. That was when I went to the garage and built a shrinking ray so he could have his own porch chair. It worked pretty well for the first run, aside from making the chair white, but I think I fried some of the electronics because I haven't been able to shrink that pile of boxes the movers left in our garage. Anyways, back to the the hero of our story, Aleric told me that he wanted to be just like me when he grew up but that he wanted to have his moms organizational skills and her good memory. I told him those were good goals and we sat sipping on our respective drinks for a few more minutes enjoying the Hawaiian evening breeze.
A proud ham (that can sit!)

No real story to this one, he was just hamming it up one evening and looking super cute so we snapped this shot to prove to everyone that he really can sit up all by himself. He likes to do this when he's playing with his toys. Hope you like it.
The Cake

About 3 months ago Holly found a magazine with a cake on the cover that she really wanted to make for Aleric's birthday. I guess she couldn't wait until then because as soon as she heard that our neighbor's son was turning two she decided to make this cake for him instead. Work began on this masterpiece at around 5pm on the 1st. As you can tell, if you've noticed the post time, we didn't finish until around 2am on the 2nd. I would say though, that all the work was worth it because the cake turned out beautifully despite our inexperience in this sort of thing.

What do you mean Santa isn't real?!!!

Aleric and I were sitting around talking today when he asked me where all of the toys he has came from. "Well son," I said " lots of nice people who care about your gave them to you.." and that's when he said "You mean like Santa?" Now, I don't even know where he heard of Santa since his name doesn't really come up in every day conversation and Aleric hasn't even been through his first Christmas but I figured our neighbor kid Xan must have said something to him. "Son, I'm going to tell you something my dad told me a long time ago. Santa isn't real. Don't worry, you'll still get lots of presents all the time." Maybe I should have waited until he was a bit older to break the news to him, he seemed a bit upset.

The Pouty Face
Aleric will make this face every time without fail if you pretend the spoon is an airplane. The moment you put the spoon down, he smiles at you like "I win, That plane couldn't land!"

Bouncing Baby Boy

One of Aleric's favorite places to be is in his little Johnny Jump-Up. It's especially nice since it keeps him happy while we're making dinner and he's getting really good at maneuvering at will.
Sorry for the long delay
Well I think I may have finally settled down enough to make an honest effort at putting up some stories and images for everyone to enjoy. For those of you with a wal-mart nearby (what is that, like 98% of the population now?) I will gladly send pictures to your local store to go pick up. Just email me. So here we go with some new posts.

pregnancy
Today was Daddy's turn to be pregnant, or at least in appearances. It started to rain on our way home from the store so Holly put his big blanket over him. We didn't know it looked like I was wearing a dress until we got home.

$#!T Happens
Note to self: when you hear strange burbling from below the belt, do not exert pressure on Aleric's bottom and hold him on his back. Holly was feeding him tonight and started to laugh, telling me i need to change his diaper now, i wondered what happened... $#1T happens.
